Hands that Heal — Training Caregivers of Trafficking Survivors

Prayer. Care. Learning. Connection.

These are just a few focal points of the recent Hands that Heal training for caregivers of trafficking survivors in Southeast Asia. Hands that Heal is a comprehensive, Christian curriculum designed to train current and future caregivers of trafficking survivors. Thirty-five participants came from 21 organizations and churches from three different countries.

“I see this training giving excellent tools to caregiver teams and aftercare programs,” says Debbie, an OC worker, key coordinator, and a trainer at the event. “Aftercare is not a formula. Each team needs to engage in conversation to discover how they will give comprehensive care to their clients.”

Debbie is the cofounder and consultant of Preventing Exploitation Actively Restoring Lives (PEARL). PEARL is a grassroots anti-trafficking group located in SE Asia...

Looking Forward to Summertime Fun!

Face-to-Face Programs Coming Soon

When summer is just around the corner, what excites you the most? Warmer weather? Longer days of sunshine? BBQs and gathering with friends and family?

At One Challenge, summer means training, sending, and receiving. It’s time for summer programs! Each summer, the U.S. Mobilization Center gets ready to welcome new workers during Core (our training program). We prepare others to join their teams at Transition Orientation (TO). And we welcome returning mission workers for rest, renewal, and debriefing at our Personnel Enrichment Program (PEP).

It’s the best time of the year! We don’t often get to care for our workers face to face, but these programs are opportunities to connect and be in community with one another.

Prayer Walking — Praying On-Site With Insight

Prayer is an essential part of the Christian life. A quick search for the word “pray” in the Bible yields 367 results. Jesus taught and modeled the importance of prayer, giving us the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6.

Today, we’d love to share a different way to pray — prayer walking.

Included is a simple outline of what it means to conduct prayer walking. Regardless of where you live, we know many people are concerned about the direction their country is going in. Perhaps this is a small way we could all begin to pray over our neighborhoods, expecting God to really answer and accomplish his purposes! The story is not done, and there are so many more who need to hear and respond to his loving invitation!
