Enhancing Skills for Life, 501c3
Have you wondered why our emails no longer come from "Skills for Life Bilateral Upper Limb Loss Workshop," but rather come from "Enhancing Skills for Life, 501c3?" It is because we formed this nonprofit in 2016 to not just support our SFL Workshops, but to provide additional in-person connections for our community. Please stay subscribed to these emails and bookmark our website to keep up to date with us. Feel free to share this information with friends and colleagues.

*** Skills for Life 6 Rescheduled ***

Due to the uncertainty of COVID-19, vaccine development and the rollout of those vaccines worldwide, we have made the difficult decision to postpone SFL 6 for one year. We agonized over this decision and regret delaying it, especially when we currently only meet in-person every 3 years; however, we want to put your health and safety first. Please mark your calendars for Skills for Life 6 now scheduled for October 5-9, 2022
(NOTE: due to limited hotel availability, the workshop is prior to Canadian Thanksgiving long weeekend).
SFL 5 1/2  Virtual Program

The Skills for Life workshop is a unique event dedicated to bilateral upper limb loss and covers topics specifically faced by individuals with bilateral upper limb loss or quad limb loss. Presenters at past events have included individuals living with bilateral upper limb/quad loss, therapists, prosthetists, physicians and others.

Our SFL 6 planning committee is now shifting gears to bring you a modified event in 2021.  Think of it as SFL 5 1/2, it will be held virtually, but with similar topics and demonstrations. Stay tuned over the coming months for details and contact us if you have ideas for content, topics, games, etc.  Tell us what you want to see and do at SFL 5 1/2!

And despite not holding the SFL Workshop in person in 2021, we are continuing to build meaningful connections within our community with our FB closed groups, monthly zoom meetings, peer introductions and a virtual SFL event.  If you are interested in helping us continue to provide these opportunities for individuals missing at least both arms or all four limbs, we would greatly appreciate your support, either as a donor or a sponsor.

Consider a donation or sponsorship today to support one of these amazing programs.  Click on the yellow donate button and make sure to note which program you are supporting or if it is a general donation.

Please contact us with questions or to discuss opportunities.
Stay Connected!

Here are a few great ways to stay connected with others in the Skills for Life community:
1) Stay active in our Skills for Life Closed Group on Facebook. Request to join if you are not already a member.
2) Join our monthly ZOOM calls that cover bathing, toileting, cooking, dressing, and more. Link is available on closed group or by email request.
3) Enhancing Skills for Life has a YouTube Channel!  If you have your own channel and we don't have it listed as a Peer Channel, please contact us so we can update our list.
4) What else do you want to see or would you like to have available?  We are looking for opportunities to keep everyone connected especially now seeing that we won't be able to get together in person for awhile. Email us with your ideas, anything goes!

ESFL is an AmazonSmile Charity!

Consider choosing Enhancing Skills for Life as your 501c3 charity on AmazonSmile!  When customers shop on AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), the AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to Enhancing Skills for Life. When first visiting AmazonSmile, you will be prompted to select a charitable organization.
