2023 Program Summary and NEW Brands joining FIRST trials
NEW BRANDS FIRST would like to welcome new entrants in the 2023 trials. A new seed genetics company out of Chicago, Illinois, Charger Genetics has entered products in South Dakota. Pine Creek Seed Farm in Pennsylvania is participating in corn grain and silage testing. The Master Farmer brand, owned by Rob-See-Co and Paloma soybeans, an M.S. Technologies brand have entered the trials as well.
We are grateful for these and all sponsoring seed companies for participating in FIRST trials. Check the listings on our website www.firstseedtests.com for all 2023 sponsors and participants.
SEED TECHNOLOGIES While final entry details are not set as of this newsletter, most products are ready for planting around the program. This year PowerCore® trait package in corn gained the most entries, while VT2P® retained the top spot. Enlist E3® now dominate the soybean genetics entered. A number of conventional varieties are being tested in the special conventional and food grade program in Minnesota. The table below shows the distribution of seed technologies for 2023 testing. FIRST anticipates VT4PTM being included in trials for 2024. We will have all the details in the FIRST Program Directory released in July.
