iPadOS 16.1 Update Available for iPad
This week Apple released iOS 16.1 which is the newest operating system for iPad and iPhone. This upgrade is available to be installed on your student's District-issued iPad (grades K-8). Please encourage your student to upgrade as soon as possible to ensure compatibility with apps that are being updated.
After upgrading to iPadOS 16.1, most apps should automatically update, however, if your student experiences any issues with an app, it is always best to reinstall the app through the Self-Service app. You and your student may also notice that the wallpaper on the District iPads has been updated to remind everyone of this update.
At this time, Apple has the update to iOS 16.1 as a “forced” update which means that the iPad/iPhone must be plugged in and connected to the Internet with Wi-Fi. Then you must
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update
- Upgrade to iOS 16.1
As always, if you have any issues or questions regarding the upgrade or your District device, please contact Technology Services.
