Dear Friends-

"The summer is considered a season of Ordinary Time in the life of the Church—a season in between the mystifying resurrection of Jesus at Easter, and Jesus’ birth, visited anew, at Christmas. The lectionary texts for these weeks follow the family narratives of Abraham, which are stories that make the title “ordinary” seem laughable. Ordinary time is punctuated by a God who keeps showing up—persistently, creatively, and lovingly—in ways that are surprising, transformative, joyful, reconciling, and unifying. The movement of the Spirit is anything but ordinary."

See you Sunday-

OUTREACH OPPORTUNITIES

Afghan Ministry Update

Lilac Tuesday!

Who can’t resist the smell of lilacs! Ken is the only male volunteer that the women feel comfortable around, due in large part to the fact that he likes to give them flowers. With lilacs in bloom he cut enough from the many bushes at Brookside to give to all the Mom’s. We scrounged up enough vases so every Mom was able to bring home a nice arrangement. The translator told us that they are now having “girls night out”. Every other Saturday someone takes a turn hosting, the women come over and the men take care of the kids. It is amazing to see how far they’ve come as a community and the support network they’ve created between themselves. Our Sewing Seeds of Hope sales are winding down as churches, mosques and temples enter the summer slow down. If anyone knows of arts & crafts fairs we could sell at or a pop up sale at a store perhaps or anywhere there is a gathering …. please let Karen or Hansi know.

Thank you,

Karen & Hansi

Home Communion and Prayer

church set up.jpg

Though many of St. Peter's parishioners have returned to worshiping and receiving Holy Communion in person inside our church building, we know it is not yet safe for all of us to do so. We will continue to live-stream our services so that we may include as many as possible in our offerings of praise and thanksgiving to God.

If it is not yet safe for you to worship with us in person, and you would like to receive Holy Communion and/or a share a time of prayer at your home, please contact the Parish Office.

If you would like to schedule a time during the week for private prayer in the church, please contact the church office.

St. Peter's is committed to continuing to make our worship space safe and welcoming to all. We hope to have you back with us in person as soon as doing so is the right choice for you.
