Dear Residents -

Election Day is only 25 days away, with early voting starting two weeks from tomorrow. There are several important races this year and thankfully, several organizations will be hosting “Meet the Candidates” type events. It is important to hear directly from the candidates (and not rely on mailers, TV and radio ads, which are sometimes less than truthful) on positions that are important to you. So, please consider attending one of the following events:

Once again, it is a busy time in Orangetown. Starting tomorrow, October 12, 2024, we have the Blauvelt Sons of Italy, in association with the Noble Ninth and the Nam Knights, hosting the First Annual Car and Motorcycle Show at the German Masonic Park, from 10 am to 3 pm. There will be food, beer, music, trophies and more. Spectators are free but it is $20 for competing cars and motorcycles to enter.

Then on Sunday, October 13, 2024, the "Nyack Famous Street Fair" will host over 300 exhibitors in downtown Nyack from 10 am to 5 pm. You can enjoy arts, crafts, retail, festival foods, outdoor cafe and music. Please note it is rain or shine, and no pets are allowed.

As a reminder, Town Hall will be closed on Monday in observance of Columbus Day.

I want to wish all who observe Yom Kippur an easy fast.

Regards,

Teresa M. Kenny

Grand Opening of Salonnière Kitchen & Market!

Supervisor Kenny was pleased to attend the grand opening for Salonnière Kitchen & Market last Saturday. Congratulations to Marcella Mazzeo, who opened Salonnière Coffee Bar right before COVID and now, just five years later, has expanded the business to include the Kitchen and Market. For those looking for a great cup of coffee or some awesome baked goods, look no further than Salonnière.

Kyle John Boyce Fundraiser

Supervisor Kenny was on hand to celebrate the life of Kyle John Boyce, a lifetime Orangetown resident and former Town of Clarkstown employee. The fundraiser, run every year by his mother, raises funds to help children attend daytime summer camp programs in Orangetown and Clarkstown, and awards scholarships to students attending Albertus Magnus High School. It was truly a tribute to the memory of Kyle John Boyce.

Goodstock 2024

Supervisor Kenny attended Goodstock 2024 at the Rockland GAA this past Sunday. The event gathered 30 musicians and singers, who generously donated their time for a one-day concert to support People to People. With over 300 people in attendance, it helped raise funds for the 31,000 Rockland residents who don't know where their next meal is coming from.
