Client Impact
Brenda, a single mom of 3, works two part-time jobs to work around her kids’ school hours, but still finds it hard at times to make ends meet, especially related to housing costs. She was connected to a Promotora, who worked with Brenda’s landlord to help her get caught up with rent and avoid eviction. Brenda also received support with food, daycare, and U-visa, and with her situation now becoming stable and her stress reduced, she wants to get more involved with the LLC’s Mami y Yo and Entre Amigos programs this summer. Brenda is one example of how Promotores support clients through personal growth so they can navigate their future challenges.

“Thank you so much to the LLC and my wonderful Promotora who helped me finally start to find my footing after 7 years in this country. Being a single mom can be really hard and lonely, but your organization has shown me that I’m not alone and there are people who can help me when times are tough. I look forward to learning more about the programs you offer and getting my family more involved in the community.”
Highlights
Our Rincón de las Comadres had the wonderful opportunity to not only model in a Macy's Mother's Day Fashion Show, but to be pampered with a brand name goodie bag, clothes and a $100 gift card. The Comadres also displayed their handmade crafts and jewelry, even selling a few pieces! Thank you so much to Macy's Arden Fair for helping our Comadres feel so special on Mother's Day weekend and for donating $2500 to our Entre Amigos Youth Development program.

Mother's Day with Mami y Yo
Our Mami's and their little ones got together at our Roseville location to celebrate Mother's Day with breakfast, arts and crafts and some relaxation time while the kiddos played. Our Mami's were so thankful to get taken care of and the little ones had so much fun making their gifts for their moms.

Adventures with Entre Amigos
Entre Amigos has had an eventful last couple of months, from taking the kids go-karting at K1 Speed, hosting a Minute to Win It series and cooling down at Sunsplash - the youth have been having many new and exciting adventures together! At K1 Speed, the youth surprised us with the sportsmanship they displayed; during our Minute to Win It series, the youth continued to build on their sportsmanship and encouragement of one another; and at Sunsplash, the youth got to kick off their summer vacation by cooling down and bonding with each other and their parents. We are excited to continue building relationships through other fun upcoming activities.
