GGUSD Kicks Off College-Signing Campaign

GGUSD's eight high schools are celebrating hundreds of college-bound seniors with festive College Signing Day events, complete with music, cake, student performances, and photo stations. At each College Signing Day event, students are photographed proudly holding signs displaying which college they plan to attend.

College Signing Day events are an annual tradition in GGUSD, celebrated in late April and early May in alignment with the May 1 California State and University of California college commitment deadlines.

The district will feature the College Signing Days photos on its website at https://ggusd.us/CollegeSigning and on its Facebook and Instagram pages using #GGUSDCollegeSigning #Goal3 #LifelongSuccess.

Walton Students Finalize Experiment for NASA

Walton Intermediate School students and NASA Tech Rise winners have been hard at work finalizing their experiment which will be tested on the NASA-sponsored commercial high altitude balloon this summer. Students have spent the last few months soldering wires, coding, wiring and making wiring diagrams! They also built a prototype, drew up blueprints and tested their sensors to make sure they all work before sending it 50,000 feet up into the atmosphere. These hard-working students have met nearly every day at lunch and 2-3 times per week after school. Once a week they meet with NASA engineers who have been guiding them throughout this entire project! We are so proud of these students! Go Wildcats!
