The weather forecast calls for chilly weather in our immediate future, but here at St. Tammany Health System, we are basking in the warmth of the giving season.
All year round, our colleagues engage in myriad acts of generosity, but there is something about the year-end holidays that brings out the best in them – and in people throughout our Northshore community.
Last month, for example, our colleagues at St. Tammany Cancer Center – A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center held their annual Thanksgiving food distribution for invited patients and their families. Next week, they’ll do it again for the year-end holidays. (Click here to learn how you can support their efforts and the cancer center’s Therapeutic Food Pantry.)
Next week, colleagues from throughout the health system will drop off truckloads of wrapped holiday gifts – that’s truckloads, plural – to brighten the holidays of local families as part of the Department of Children and Family Services’ annual Adopt-A-Family program.
Elsewhere, our Education Department is hosting a clothing drive to benefit clients of NAMI St. Tammany. In our main hospital lobby, the Hospice Tree of Life honors the loved ones of local families while also raising money for hospice programs.
The list of generosity goes on – and our hearts are all the warmer for it.
Thank you for your support of our caring mission all year round and, as always, for trusting us with your family’s healthcare.
However you celebrate – whether Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza, Festivus or some joyous blend – we wish you and your family a blessed end to the year and a happy new one.
