Extra-Ordinary Time!

St Francis now enters that long season of the year called Ordinary Time (also known as the Season after Pentecost or the “Green Season”). These months after the Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter cycles are a time for living out our faith in ordinary life. But at St Francis, things are anything but ordinary. Last weekend we celebrated our Summer Gala and observed Juneteenth. Thank you to everyone who helped make these events a success – there was a tremendous feeling of excitement in our fellowship and worship. Now as we move into the summer, we want to carry the momentum of the Spirit into the weeks to come.

Many of you have pent up travel plans. We wish you God’s blessings wherever you may go but when you are in town, please plan to join us in worship and fellowship.

  • We continue to offer a Summer Sunday School time in the playground.
  • Our coffee hour will take place after the 10:00 service. We always need volunteers. The cost of food etc. is covered by the church - just keep your receipts. To find out more, or to volunteer, email or call Elaine 310-594-8268, in the church office. We have full instructions and will guide you. This is an important welcome ministry for St. Francis!
  • We invite you to join us in the Chapel next Wednesday at noon for the Feast of St Peter & St Paul.
  • We will feature special prayers for the nation on July 3rd for Independence Day.
  • We pray for the Episcopal Church as we approach the Church’s General Convention, July 8-11. You can learn more at Season of Prayer for Revival.
  • Pray also for your Search Committee and Vestry as they begin to receive information on potential Rector Candidates.

Yes, it may be Ordinary Time, but extraordinary things are happening at St Francis. Join us!
