Women are the Past, Present and Future!

Hello, Knightdale! I'm extremely honored to celebrate the wonderful contributions and accomplishments of women across the globe during Women's History month! Let's all take a moment to tell and SHOW all of the special women in our great community how much they mean to us!

I'm so excited about the many positive things going on around town. I wanted to share just a few things going on with our citizens and community.

Knightdale Welcomes Qwik Pack & Ship!

I was honored to be invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the grand opening of Qwik Pack & Ship here in Knightdale!

The business officially opened on February 16. Special thanks to Representative Roberson, Mayor Pro Tem Ben McDonald, and Town Manager Bill Summers for coming out to support the grand opening.

Welcome to Knightdale, Qwik Pack & Ship! We're glad you're here!

AMI Kids Provides Opportunities

for Wake Students

Councilor Stephen Morgan and I had the opportunity to attend the open house for Infinity Wake County's AMI Kids. The organization's mission is to help youth with a troubled past get guidance and support they need to become productive citizens.

As an advocate for education and personal reform, I'm grateful for organizations like AMI Kids that work to help students turn their lives around for the better. Thank you so much for inviting me to see the wonderful work being done!

Spotlighting Women Leaders in RTP

I had the pleasure of participating in the RTP Women Leaders panel, an event that celebrates Women's History Month and excellence in female leadership in Wake County.

I was joined by Allyson Cobb (United Way of the Triangle), Stacey Ahua (Usu Company Candles), Sarah Chick (Strategic Engagement), and Dr. Laura Rowley (NC Biotech). The panel presented great ways we're all empowering our communities by instilling values of equity.

I had a wonderful time, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to be involved in this wonderful discussion!

Read All About It!

Honestly, what's better than a really good book? Nothing! The members of the Chi Rho Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., think so, too! They held their 34th African-American Read-in this past February, and the turnout was incredible!

Children from all over Wake County engaged in African-American stories, songs, poetry, and so much more at Marbles Kids Museum. It was such a great ending to Black History Month, and I was so glad I received an invitation to attend.

Amazing event, ladies! Thank you for providing such great service to our community!
