An Opportunity to Learn about Colombia’s History and Geography
|
Colombia is a paradox. The country is widely judged to be the longest surviving democracy in Latin America. However, Colombia has also endured the longest lasting guerrilla movement in the entire region as well as the violence of drug cartels and kingpins. Most recently, the lush beauty of the mountains and the colorful flora and fauna of Colombia have inspired the Disney hit Encanto. Melanie Ziegler will give a presentation on Colombia after the church service on Sunday, May 22. Former travelers to Colombia, travelers going on the July trip, and members of the congregation and community are invited to attend and learn more about this fascinating and beautiful country.

Research shows that giving is contagious. It found that acts of altruism can spread by three degrees - from person to person to person. That means one generous act from you can influence dozens or even hundreds of people.
To give via QR code, scan the code in the image below with your phone and follow the brief prompts. View a video tutorial here on giving through QR code.
To give via text message, text opc1825 and your designated amount to 73256. For example, text "opc1825 25" to 73256 for an offering of $25 and follow the prompt. View a video tutorial here on giving via text message.

Living into Hope
Morning has broken like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them, springing fresh from the Word!
Sweet the rain’s new fall sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.
Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation, praise every morning,
God’s re-creation of the new day!
