Dear Hermosa Family,

I am proud to be part of the Hermosa community. Our families and staff are dedicated to our students and committed to Hermosa School’s 120-year tradition of excellence. So many students, parents, community members, teachers and staff make special contributions to the small school district experience.

Last night we celebrated our State of Schools at Hermosa View and successes in early childhood education. To watch, CLICK HERE

I want to take a moment to thank our team and highlight a few special contributions:

  • The Hermosa Valley team successfully began school in absence of their principal and this month welcomed Ms. Bledsoe back to a thriving campus.

  • The Hermosa Beach Education Foundation raised a record-setting $500,000 during the Annual Giving Campaign in September.

  • New band teacher Ms. Eunice Kim hit the ground running and debuted the middle school band at the Spirit Games.

  • Elementary teacher Ms. Lisa Gibson launched the new elementary Spanish program.

  • The Halloween Carnival was another scary success thanks to the incredible HVPTO volunteers who organize a fun-filled night better described as a theme park than a carnival.

  • And finally, shout out to Carol Kluthe and Trish Scaglione who engineered another record-breaking year at Skechers Pier-to-Pier Walk, registering more walkers than the enrollment of Hermosa Schools.

These wins for kids are a small glimpse of the countless contributions that make me grateful to celebrate my fourth year in Hermosa Schools. Thank you for your service to the community and its students.

Best,

Dr. J
