Join Millersville University in Celebrating
10 years of Breast-A-Ville - Take Three!

October 5, 2022
On October 5, 2022 Millersville University will hold the 10th annual Breast-A-Ville Take Three event on the promenade outside of the Student Memorial Center. Due to Covid-19 in 2020 and 2021, we were unable to give the 10th Annual Breast-A-Ville Event the celebration it deserved, and so we decided to make a third attempt in 2022! Since the inaugural year in 2011, Breast-A-Ville has engaged students and the Millersville community in informative and fun activities to increase awareness about breast health and breast cancer. Local health agencies and experts come from the surrounding area to serve as exhibitors at the event.

Call for Alumni Mentors!

Register by July 15

Do you want a fun way to connect with current students and give back to your alma mater? You should become an Alumni Mentor! By volunteering as a mentor, you’ll be matched with a student based on similar interests or backgrounds. You’ll help your mentee learn what to expect in school, how to approach challenges, gain career advice and valuable insights.

Mentors can make a real difference in the lives of students and help contribute to their success. Once you are matched with a mentee, you can decide how and how often you want to connect, which can happen via email, phone, video chat, text, or in-person. Even a small amount of time can make a large impact.

Just click here to register! You’ll be directed to create a profile and complete a brief survey which will be used to ensure that you and your mentee are a good fit. Additional information will be shared via email and text message about how to use the online platform – administered by Mentor Collective – as well as all the support you’ll need to start and sustain your mentorship. You can also find additional background on the program and resources online.

Questions? Contact the Mentorship Office or Mentor Collective directly.

Imagine the Possible
Support Morgan Athletic Complex Locker Room Renovations and
Locker Naming Opportunities
The historic gift of $1.5 million from Lois Morgan ’54 kickstarted the fundraising campaign for the comprehensive renovation of Biemesderfer Stadium’s locker rooms. Once completed, the locker, training and equipment facility will be named the Morgan Athletic Complex, in honor of Mrs. Morgan’s gift, the largest in Millersville Athletics’ history.

There are many exciting opportunities for the Millersville University community to join in supporting the locker room renovation project through naming opportunities for individual lockers and for team locker rooms. With a gift of $1,500, donors may reserve a named individual locker located in a locker room for any of the teams that will call the Morgan Athletic Complex home, including Field Hockey, Football, Lacrosse, and Track and Field and Cross Country. Donors participating in the locker naming opportunity will be contacted to confirm naming for commemorative locker plaques. With this opportunity, alumni and friends who are passionate about the success of Millersville Athletics can make a difference and become part of the historic renovation project.

Scholarship Endowment from Retired Millersville University Professor
Pulls at the Heart Strings
Retired professor Jean Marie Romig started playing the violin in elementary school and never stopped playing and learning. She would later become a strings faculty member at Millersville University and her love of the violin and music will now benefit our students for years to come.

Romig, who played with the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, retired from Millersville in 1994 and died last year at age 86. To honor her parents, she left the University $900,000 in her will for the Jean M. Romig Violin and Viola Scholarship in memory of Karl and Pauline Romig. The endowment will generate approximately $45,000 each year to be awarded to Millersville University students majoring in music education with demonstrated excellence in violin or viola.
