The Steven Spectrum Career Project
The Steven Spectrum Career Project is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Long Island City, NY, dedicated to empowering neurodivergent individuals through comprehensive workforce training, daily living workshops, mentorship programs, and job placement services. The organization was launched in November 2023. Led by executive director, Jacqueline Diaz, The Steven Spectrum Career Project plans to partner with employers in the Tri-State area to neurodivergent individuals into the workplace.

Legends of LIC - "One Day It Just Disappeared!"

"The 125 foot steel mast that Sir Thomas Lipton bequeathed to the Borough of Queens in much pomp and ceremony that blustery day in 1909 vanished almost overnight. Photos of Queensboro Plaza in 1915 show a very large web of metal tracks and platforms for the new elevated Queensboro Plaza had taken its place.
Removing something the height of a 12-story building, seen daily by thousands in a busy public space must have attracted some attention during its removal. A brief paragraph in a local paper solved the mystery. It seems that the city was ‘perplexed’ by Mr. Lipton’s largess and decided to remove it, a process that injured two workers and cost nearly $80,000." Read On Here
