Presidents' Letter

Happy Friday Ogden Families,

We had our second PTC meeting of the year on Wednesday night. As always, anyone is welcome to come! Our next meeting will be at Ogden in the LRC on Wednesday, November 6 at 7pm.

Here are a few reminders and upcoming things to look out for:

The Tour de Ogden was a great success! Thank you to the committee for planning a great event for our school community.
Unity Day is October 16. Remember to wear your Orange. T-shirt orders are due this Sunday, October 6.
Dr. Covino, our amazing superintendent, is asking that each school have 2 representatives to be part of the new district foundation. To learn more, please reach out to your PTC co-presidents.
There has been an updated student code of conduct that parents/guardians will be required to read and agree to for all PTC events. Please be sure to look that over when you use cheddar up to sign up for events.
We have had a recent shift in fundraising for our playground. The committee has worked so hard, and we want to say a special thank you to Peter Maginot and Colleen Furey, especially during this shift in plans. Please see the playground newsletter for updates HERE.
Don’t forget about our Boosterthon, also known as our Panther Fun Run, during the school day on October 24. This is a fun activity for the kids, and a great way to get extended family to help support our school.

Panther Fun Run

The Panther Fun Run is back for another year! This year, Ogden students will fundraise through Boosterthon and participate in the Fun Run on the blacktop on October 24.

The first step is to register your students.

Drama Club Parent Volunteers

The 2024-25 Drama Club for 5th and 6th graders is looking for parent/teacher volunteers to help get this year's club off the ground! The club would involve meetings this fall at lunch or after school to practice lines, rehearse scenes/skits, and enjoy some improv games.

The kids really lead the way!

No theater experience necessary, just a willingness to supervise a few practices and help out!

The kids did a fabulous job last year, and we can't wait to see what they can do next ...

Your purchase of the $15 signature orange Unity Day T-shirt helps the National Bullying Prevention Center (NBPC) continue to provide free bullying prevention resources to students, families, and educators.

To guarantee delivery by October 16th, all orders must be placed by October 6th. Orders/money will NOT be collected at Ogden.

Ogden K-3 Halloween Party

Friday, October 25

6:00pm - 7:00pm

This is a free event, but please register your child(ren) in advance so that we can get a headcount.

Banned Books Week

Did you know that in 2023 more books were banned in US schools and libraries than

any other year for which records have been kept?

Among those books were commonly taught novels such as Lord of the Flies and To Kill a Mockingbird.

We will host a Banned Book Club meeting for parents and caregivers on Mon, November 18. Our book selection will be Blubber by Judy Bloom.
