Safety Circuit Rider Update
The Technology Transfer Program's Safety Circuit Rider Program (SCRP) is working with six focus counties this year to improve safety on their roads.  The 2015/2016 focus counties are Clay, Lincoln, McClean, Pendleton, Powell and Taylor.

The SCRP was able to obtain funding for each of the counties to purchase signs for two focus roads.  The emphasis is on horizontal curve alignment, object markers and speed advisory signs.  County officials are given crash data for their roads and attend a half-day training on Low-Cost Safety Improvements.  Members of the county meet with Jeff Hackbart, Kentucky Safety Circuit Rider, and various safety experts to conduct a Road Safety Audit Review of the two focus roads.  Once the issues are determined, signs are ordered and delivered to the county.  The county provides the labor and equipment to install the signs.

How do you know if a class is cancelled?

In the event of inclement weather, the Technology Transfer program may cancel classes.  The decision will be made in consideration of information available from the local weather service in the area where the class is scheduled to be held.  The decision to cancel classes will typically be made by noon the day prior to the training event.  Those individuals who are registered to attend the class will be notified by phone.

Cancellations will also be posted on our website ( www.kyt2.com
and on our Facebook page.
