The National Association for Lay Ministry recently recognized Barbara Sutton with the 2023 Spirit of the Conference Award for her outstanding service in support of lay ministry. Barbara Sutton is the current Director of Bridge Builders for a Thriving Mission at the SOT/Sem, but has worn many hats throughout the years. She also helped organize and execute various symposiums, including the Collegeville National Symposium on Lay Ecclesial Ministry, the 10th Anniversary of Co-Workers in Ministry, and a monthly webinar series during the pandemic called Sustaining a Healthy Ministerial Workplace. Additionally, Barbara received the Called and Gifted Award from the Association of Graduate Programs in Ministry in February.

Thank you, Barbara, for your dedication to supporting lay ministers, and congratulations on receiving this well-deserved award!

The SOT/Sem Receives a $1M Gift

The SOT/Sem received a gift of $1M toward its scholarship endowment. This will strengthen our commitment to providing student scholarships as we strive to remain one of the lowest student-debt schools among North American ATS-accredited schools (279 total) and position our students for long-term professional and financial stability.

We give thanks for this tremendous donation to do transformative work!
