Andy Lewis 5K Run – Sunday, June 12th

The Andy Lewis 5K Run is named in honor of an esteemed Haverford Township Commissioner who died suddenly in 2021. Andy was known for his intelligence, integrity, and kind heart. He was a strong supporter of the work of Discover Haverford.

Havertown Holiday Festival

Saturday, December 10th (Rain date 12/11), Brookline Boulevard

The Havertown Holiday Festival will be a family friendly event focused on Christmas, Hanukah, and Winter Fun! We will have costumed characters, live holiday music, story time and crafts for kids, food vendors, a beer & wine garden, a holiday marketplace, an ice sculpture demonstration, and a lit holiday tree and menorah.

Discover Haverford Welcomes Bugsy's Grooming

Join us in welcoming Bugsy’s Grooming to Havertown! Animal groomer Susi Ferreria and her wife Kelly, a full time psychologist, moved to Havertown a few years ago and opened the new business at 2201 E. Darby Road in January. Susi has been independently grooming for over 7 years and is so dedicated to her clients that many of them followed her from New Jersey to Havertown for the pet grooming needs.

The mission at Bugsy Grooming is to give a very high-quality grooming experience. “This is what I love to do,” Susi explained. “I care about these animals and want them to have good experience.

We have been hearing reports from businesses that they are struggling to find employees. At times some have had to close or reduce their hours due to staffing shortages. We know there are good candidates out there and we want to help make that connection. To this end, Discover Haverford is organizing a jobs fair at the CREC at Haverford Reserve on Monday, May 16th from 4:00-7:00pm.

If you are a Haverford Township business with current openings for permanent or summer employees and you would like to participate in the jobs fair, please email Melissa at mbatchelor@hped.org.

Discover Haverford and Haverford Township Launch Matching Facade Grant Program

Does the outside of your business need some work? Do you need a higher quality sign to attract customers? Do you want to replace windows or doors? Would you like to add plantings or window boxes? Now is a great time to start thinking about it!

Funds for this program are provided by Haverford Township through the American Rescue Plan Act to mitigate effects of the COVD-19 pandemic and it's effect on the business community. Through this program, the Township will match applicant’s investment in qualified improvements dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000.

Phase 1 of the program opened on March 1st, 2022 and ends on April 29th, 2022 at 4:00pm or when ten applications have been submitted. Click the link for details and the application.
