KAYAKING WITH CORNERSTONE
FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN
This month’s “Ministry Deep Dives” from the respective vestry liaisons focused on and celebrated the wonderful work of those groups who loosely fall under “Parish Life” and "Worship". Vestry members Ian McQueen and Charlie Tudor will tell you they are blessed to be a partner or a helpful bystander with the ministries of the various guilds, commissions and committees that so enrich our worship and congregational life. They will also tell you that these groups are an easy and comfortable way to engage with church life and with your fellow parishioners, and will also invite us, nicely, to join a guild, commission, or committee to keep the good work going.

The Vestry and Rector are undertaking a Mutual Ministry Review, where both parties reflect separately on their respective roles and how they are living those out in the service of the Church. The follow-up collaborative conversation about expectations and goals will contribute to stronger communication roots for a healthy relationship.

Every day the Church tries to live out its mission of living and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and nowhere is that more evident than our welcoming stance to those less fortunate in the downtown area. The office provides resources and referrals to help our neighbors and the undesignated first of the month offerings are put to good use to help those in need. Additionally, the churchyard has occasionally been a place of refuge for some of our homeless neighbors. The Church staff is engaged in this ministry out of sight of most of us who attend on Sundays and should make us proud, and thankful, that Saint Paul’s Church is responding with the words and deeds of the collects and prayers of our liturgy. They work hard to balance support for the homeless and troubled while expecting and requiring reverence and respect for our Church property and the safety for our staff and volunteers.

Senior Warden

A Few Notes on the "Management" of our Prayer List
Our official prayer list is an important part of our community of prayer, organizing our prayers for our beloveds. In order for our prayer list to be effective, we must all stay connected to the list, so we ask that you contact the parish office to update us on the status of your prayer request with a quick email monthly.

Twice a year the parish will begin a new prayer list: July 1 and January 1. Of course, it is fine for a name to remain on our list for an extended period of time; we ask that you simply email the parish office to let us know you’d like a name (new or continuing) to be added to our new list.
