Hello Michael,

Here is what's happening

at Market Wines this week!

Facebook  Twitter

Last weekend of the year, wow time has flown. Thanks to all our wonderful costumers who made this year such a fantastic time. From our 15th Anniversary Party, to our amazing 3 night sparkling wine tasting, this year has been a year of some amazing memories. We have excited things in the works for next year and will keep you posted.

We have a great final tasting of the year, picked out by Michael and Amy. We have a fun frizzante rose from Germany to start, followed by a beautiful wine from France. For the reds, we have a stellar Nebbiolo from Italy and because it’s New Year’s Eve weekend, we are ending with a red sparkling from Italy.

We will be open normal hours all weekend with wine tasting on both Saturday and Sunday. However, we will be closed January 1st and January 2nd to recharge the batteries and hit the ground running in 2024.

Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc/Viognier, California $14.99

Founded in 1978 by Gary Andrus, Pine Ridge Vineyards sits in the heart of the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, famous for Cabernet Sauvignon wines of distinctive power and elegance. Since their founding in 1978, Pine Ridge Vineyards has invested in 160 acres of estate vineyards, 47 of which are in Stags Leap District. They also own vineyards throughout the most renowned growing regions of Napa Valley: Howell Mountain, Oakville, Rutherford, and Carneros. Pine Ridge Vineyards are committed to and have always embraced sustainable practices. They take every step to preserve the ecosystem of our region, and their Napa Green certification demonstrates our commitment as responsible stewards of the land. The Chenin aromatics bring citrus characters of lime, orange blossom, honey suckle, ginger, and melon. The Viognier aromatics tend to be a little heavier on stone fruit of nectarine and peach with hints of floral characters. Check out their website.

Le Terre di Stefano Massone Gavi Masera, Italy $15.99

Stefano Massone’s Piemonte vineyards are in the warmer southeastern part of the region in Gavi, where the Cortese grape achieves maximum ripeness. Some compare fine Gavi to white Burgundy, citing the mineral character of the wines. Ripe, rich fruit provides perfect balance to the vibrant acidity of the single-varietal, single-vineyard bottling of “Vigneto Masera”, producing a wine with both weight and crispness, along with intense aromas of lime, pear, apple and exotic fruits. An ideal aperitif or first course wine in an all-Piedmont lineup, and a great value! Check out their website.

Anciano no. 5 Crianza, Spain $11.99

Anciano wines look reassuringly traditional, yet are made in a contemporary, food-friendly style. Crafted with individual care and attention, each shows its unique and intriguing character. Anciano Rioja Crianza comes from leading producer Criadores de Rioja located near Logroño, at the heart of Rioja Alta. The winery belongs to a family with one of the longest traditions in Rioja winemaking and our winemaker has access to some of the finest wines in the region. Crianza wines are aged for a minimum of 2 years with 1 year in oak barrels. Check out their website.

Shebang The Whole Shebang Red Blend, California $17.99

The Whole Shebang is a wine made by the small crew at Bedrock Wine Co. intended to offer authentic Californian deliciousness at a reasonable price. Composed of Zinfandel, Carignan, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Mataro, and other Mediterranean varieties, the wine is their version of the humble, yet soul-satisfying, Côtes du Rhône.  Shebang is entirely made with indigenous yeasts, native malolactic strains, and raised in a combination of neutral oak barrels and tank (in other words, minimal winemaking chicanery). Check out their website.
