JCEDC WELCOMES SANDRA ELWELL AS SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COUNSELOR
JCEDC is pleased to announce the recent addition of Sandra Elwell, who will join the JCEDC team as a Small Business Development Counselor. Elwell will focus on small business counseling and support for Johnson County’s existing small businesses and its emerging entrepreneurs.
Elwell brings with her over 20 years of experience in business education. She has worked as an educator with State Fair Community College since 2008 and as an adjunct educator with the University of Central Missouri for 3 years. Elwell holds a B.S.E. in Business Education, an M.S.E. in Secondary Education and Business and Office Education, and an M.S. in School Counseling. Her extensive education and experience will be a wonderful asset to the JCEDC Team and to Johnson County, Missouri.

BRANTNER ATTENDS MEDC CONFERENCE IN JEFFERSON CITY, MISSOURI
Executive Director Tracy Brantner recently attended the Missouri Economic Development Council (MEDC) Economic Issues Summit in Jefferson City, MO. The MEDC Economic Issues conference provided a wonderful opportunity to exchange best practices with the economic development professionals across the State. In addition, the professional development content was exceptional and included updates from a variety of State of Missouri development partners like the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development and the Department of Economic Development. 
EPA PARTNERS WITH K-STATE TO HOST COMMUNITY INPUT SESSION IN HOLDEN, MO
Recently, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Kansas State University (K‐State) Technical Assistance for Brownfields (TAB) program partnered to host a Community Input Session about the potential future redevelopment of the former Martha Rose Chemical/Holden Business Park in Holden, Missouri. During the session, participants worked in groups to identify potential development ideas for the site.
APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR WARRENSBURG CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU GRANT PROGRAM
The WCVB 2022 grant program is now accepting applications! The application deadline is Friday, April 29, 2022.

The Warrensburg Convention and Visitors Bureau grant program was established to provide funding to nonprofits (501c3 and 501c6) that are hosting events, programs, and sporting events that promote the development and growth of overnight tourism in Warrensburg, Missouri. Grants are awarded to qualified applicants that bring in visitors from outside Warrensburg (a minimum of 50+ miles), drive business to Warrensburg lodging establishments, and have a positive economic impact on other businesses and attractions. Grant funding is made possible through an allocation of the City of Warrensburg Lodging Tax.
