Let's get ready to hang, Sally,

It's great to have new window and wall graphics, but careful preparation prior to installation will help ensure your project looks great for as long as possible.

Window and Wall Graphic Preparation Tips

Before installation: Prepare the surface

  • Have existing graphics removed: If you have old graphics in place, arrange to have them professionally removed
  • Clean the surfaces: Clean the walls with a mixture of water and TCP. Wash windows thoroughly.
  • Repairs walls as needed but contact Beeline and Blue before you do: It is important you use the right products to prepare the surface for your new graphics. Give us a call. We will advise you on paints with high-adhesion qualities. If you use, for instance, paint with low VOC levels (Volatile Organic Compounds), your graphics may not stick. To ensure the best results, we will do adhesion testing prior to installation.

The day of the installation: Clear the area

  • Move away furniture: Strive to allow the installers eight feet of clearance around the area where graphics will be installed. Moving away furniture, clearing off counters, and removing obstacles before Beeline's installation crew arrives is a big help.
  • Remove anything taped to the surface: Installers will remove any handrails, light switch covers or outlet plates, but you'll want to take down any temporary signage or flyers on windows or walls.

During installation: Plan for disruption

  • Close off installation areas Depending on the project size and complexity, installation can take several hours. Beeline will close the area to foot traffic, but warning staff this will happen will avoid issues.
