This Sunday:
“Are You Abiding?“
John 14:8-17, 25-27

As Alex said last Sunday, “We are expecting!” No, not Patti and me. And not Annie and Alex. We, New Covenant, are expecting. We have over 100 children coming to VBS with 50 plus volunteers. And, we are planning and preparing for some exciting opportunities for evangelism. We are expecting to introduce Jesus to some who have not heard, and we are planning to share Jesus with those who have heard and are eager to hear more. Yes, New Covenant is expecting, and we need your help preparing!
We need your help! Will you pray for Alex and Annie, for all of the VBS leaders and volunteers and for the youth and children who will attend? Your time and prayer is the most significant way that you can help us. Will you pray for us?
If you would like to help support VBS you can go online to Amazon (click here) and purchase things that are still needed. And, if you would like to sponsor a volunteer lunch (volunteers and their families are invited to eat together after VBS each day), please make a donation to VBS - Lunch on your check or envelope. We will serve about 60 people each day and the cost for each lunch averages about $175.00. Thank you for your time, your prayers and gifts! We are excited for this week to be a blessing to the many families that will have their children and youth here! And this will also bless us as a church!
This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. Fifty days earlier, Jesus was raised from the dead. One week ago today (Thursday), he ascended into heaven, and now we celebrate the birth of the Christian Church on Sunday. The Gospel for this Sunday highlights Jesus’ gift of the Holy Spirit. Jesus told Philip and his other disciples that he was sending the Advocate (Holy Spirit) to be with them forever. As we continue to deal with a divided nation and a pandemic that doesn’t want to quit, the question for Sunday is “Are you abiding with the Holy Spirit through fellowship with other believers?” This is a critical question for us. Are you abiding with Jesus through his Spirit with your church? “For He is in you!” We need you and we need the Holy Spirit that is within you!
