TSAHC believes in the power of education and building capacity for our nonprofit housing partners. Through Housing Connection, we help affordable housing and counseling organizations access trainings, promote themselves, build capacity, as well as provide a network where best practices can be shared.

Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation (TSAHC) is happy to announce the Housing Connection schedule for 2020. These classes will be hosted at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Antonio in June. Registration will open in March 2020, and course details can be found below:

Student loans are now the largest non-mortgage form of debt held by consumers in the U.S., but there remains limited evidence of how this growing debt burden affects the use of other financial products and services. As student loan burdens have grown, the federal government has introduced several  income-driven repayment (IDR) plans   to reduce financial distress for borrowers by setting payments for federal student loans based on borrowers' incomes and family sizes.

Along with year-end parties, comes New Year goal setting, right? It's time to look forward and envision where you see yourself this time next year. Is owning a home on your list of goals?
Before you stumble upon that dream home while out looking at holiday lights, take these  three simple year-end steps that will jump start your journey to homeownership. You'll be well on your way to a new home before that New Year's Eve countdown begins. 

Where you live is linked to how healthy you are.  Sadly, U.S. Latino communities are marked by lower-quality, unaffordable housing, as well as high risk for eviction and displacement. This contributes to health inequities in this population.  That's what we found in our new research review,  The State of Latinos and Housing, Transportation, and Green Space , released on May 14, 2019, by: Salud America!; a national network for health equity at UT Health San Antonio.
