Thanks for reading our holiday newsletter! Just a friendly reminder *NEVER* to eat or consume any of the berries or fruits off of flowering ornamental plants. Wishing you a safe and happy holiday!

Featured Plants

Instead of cutting down a tree this year, consider a potted plant. You can deck it out with ornaments or pot it to use as decoration, and then plant your tree or shrub in the ground once the holidays have passed, giving the plant new life and your garden a midwinter lift. See some of our favorites below - from spruce to cypress to winter-flowering shrubs, there's something for everyone on your list.

Holiday Trees

Dwarf Alberta Spruce

Picea glauca 'Conica'

For the classic Christmas tree look, but elf-sized. Great for small spaces at 3-4' in height.

Fat Albert Colorado Blue Spruce Picea pungens

A blue-hued, classic tree to hold all of your decorations. Fits most rooms at 8-9'; grows to 40'.

American Arborvitae

Thuja occidentalis 'Janed Gold'

This gold-hued green is perfectly fancy for the holidays. 2-3' tall as shown; grows to 20' at maturity.

Dwarf Hinoki Cypress

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Mariesii'

This one has a wild, unkempt look perfect for all-natural solstice celebrations. 2-3' tall.

Feelin' Blue Deodar Cedar Cedrus deodara (dwarf conifer)

Your Cousin It joining you for the holidays. Flat-topped, draping blue-green branches grow to 1-3' tall by 6-10' wide.

Dwarf Mugo Pine

Pinus mugo var. pumilia

Playful globe-shaped needle clusters already look like ornaments. 1' tall x 1' wide as shown; can grow to 5' x 10'.

Thunderhead Japanese Black Pine Pinus thunbergii

This head-turning pine looks like a 1950s movie star in her finest (faux) furs. Approx. 8 ft. as shown; grows to 10' x 15'.

Blue Atlas Cedar

Cedrus atlantica 'Glauca Pendulum' Serpentine

One of our year-round favorites, the cascading blue-green foliage would look gorgeous covered in blue and white lights.

Aptos Blue Redwood

Sequoia Aptos Blue

Bring the fragrance of the redwood forest into your (high-ceilinged) home, then plant as a habitat for native species.

Citrus

Assorted varieties

For a seasonal tree that is also a seasonal treat, consider an eye-catching, fruit-bearing citrus.

Winter flowers & foliage

Red Kangaroo Paw Anigozanthus 'Kanga Cherry'

For a profusion of red and green color that will last, pot these up now then move them outside once the holidays have passed.

Red Australian Fuschia

Correa 'Carmine Bells'

If you want to hear the (sleigh) bells and see them, these tiny red bell-shaped winter flowers should do the trick.

White New Zealand Tea Tree Leptospermum scopiarum

Tiny white flowers atop dark foliage look like winter's first snowfall. A lovely alternative to traditional holiday plants.

Robyn Gordon Grevillea

Grevillea bipinnatifida x banksii

Striking red flowers are perfectly ornamental against conifer-evoking fernlike foliage.

Candelabra Aloe

Aloe arborescens

The perfect centerpiece for a winter garden, this long-armed aloe produces huge, vivid red flower spikes this time of year.

Compact Heavenly Bamboo Nandina domestica compacta

Indulge in holiday reds sans hangover with bright red-orange berries against dark red winter foliage on this petite Nandina. (Note: berries are toxic! Do not eat or consume!)

Thank you for your business this year. See you in 2024!
