Dear Queen of Martyrs Families,
Happy Halloween and All Saint's Day!
On Tuesday, classes will not be in session for the Funeral Mass of Ms. Mary Ann Cronin in church at 10:30am. Please keep Ms. Cronin and her family in your prayers in the coming days.
On Thursday, our students may dress up for Halloween and celebrate with their classes. The student council will vote on the Best Decorated Pumpkins and winners will be announced at the end of the day. Bring in those Pumpkins!
Halloween Dress Down Days
Thursday, October 31, 2023 will be designated a special out-of-uniform day with students free to dress in celebration of Halloween. Guidelines for attire are as follows:
- Students may choose to dress in QM Spirit Wear attire or dress in Halloween color attire (black and orange).
- Students may choose to dress in costume attire. If a student decides to dress up, the following guidelines are in place:
- Costumes must uphold our pride and Catholic school identity and reflect each student’s good nature and creativity. No blood and guts.
- Costumes must be appropriate in length and appearance.
- Students must wear appropriate footwear.
- Costumes must not conceal a student’s identity--no masks.
- Costumes must not be inappropriate or make fun of others.
- No inflatable costumes are permitted.
- No toy weapons or props of any kind are permitted.
Mr. Davidson will have the final say as to the appropriateness of a costume and reserves the right to send a student home to change if necessary.
On Friday, we will celebrate a school Mass at 8:30am in celebration of All Saints Day! This important feast day is a reminder to us that we are all called to strive to become saints.
Students in Preschool through Grade 4 may dress up as their favorite saint to celebrate this important feast day. We hope you can join us for Mass to celebrate All Saints Day!
