July Repair Cafes

New Paltz Repair Cafe

Saturday, July 22, 2023, 10am - 2pm

New Paltz United Methodist Church

1 Grove Street, New Paltz

A Repair Cafe is a free community event. You bring your broken but beloved items and together with volunteer repair coaches, WE FIX THEM! People bring all kinds of things to a repair cafe: clocks and other mechanical items; chairs, frames, and other wooden items; electrical items and small appliances; digital devices; clothing and textiles; dolls, stuffed animals, and toys, tools in need of sharpening; jewelry and watches; and so much more! Most items get fixed, and even when they don’t – we have a good time trying!

We are looking for "Repair Coaches" to guide people in fixing all kinds of things. Repair coaches bring their own tools and supplies and offer repairs at no cost. If you would like to volunteer, the commitment can be on a per-event basis.

19th Annual

Woodstock Volunteers Day

when: Saturday August 19th, 2023

where: In the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center

And on Andy Lee Recreation Field

56 Rock City Road, Woodstock

OUR TOWN’S EXPRESSION OF GRATITUDE TO OUR WONDERFUL VOLUNTEERS.

Volunteer’s Day – A Day of Gratitude is a day in which we all remember what is good about our community. Woodstock is the only town in America that has a volunteers’ day – a day of gratitude like this one, in which all volunteers both current and retired are celebrated. This event is not a recruitment activity, just a thank you and a demonstration of our community’s appreciation. While we are reminded every day of the considerable acts of kindness, personal generosity and bravery that our volunteers offer us on a daily basis, never asking to be thanked, on Volunteers’ Day, the volunteers are the “Guests of Honor.”

If you would like to help thank you, that’s wonderful! You can SignUp to help now by clicking the button below.

Thank you!
