Monthly Day of Prayer
Tuesday, June 27
All are invited to participate in the Monthly Day of Prayer on Tuesday, June 27. There are two ways you can participate. One is to come in-person for your prayer time to the Covenant Day School Conference Room located in the A Building (this room is located next to the church’s main office) anytime between 7:30 am – 7:00 pm. Prayer guides are provided. Another option is to pick a time slot and pray where you are, whether that’s at home or at work. The day is divided into 30-minute segments for individuals to sign up and pray for supported workers and for the needs of our congregation. You can select the time that best fits your schedule by clicking here. We also hope you will take time to submit your confidential prayer requests online by clicking here or by email at prayer@christcovenant.org.
Small Groups Sign-Up Season Coming
Summer has just begun, but it’s not too early to be thinking ahead a bit to the fall, especially when it comes to small groups! At a large and growing church like ours, small groups provide a vital avenue for connecting in fellowship and sharing life with one another as we grow together in Christ. A small group can help a big church feel small. If you have not yet connected in a small group or perhaps would benefit from doing so again, be looking for more information about small groups soon and a sign-up season coming in August. Stay tuned! More to come in the weeks ahead!
Envision Capital Campaign Update
Christ Covenant Church launched the Envision the Future and Remember the Past Capital Campaign in April 2021 to advance portions of the long-term Master Plan we have for our campus. From the Envision Campaign, improvements have been made to our church buildings and surrounding property to improve accessibility, safety and beauty. The goals that have been accomplished have enhanced online and in-person experiences for our church family and the community we serve. We hope you will pick up an Envision update brochure that can be found on the tables outside the sanctuary to learn about all of the improvements made through Envision.
Volunteer with Children's Ministry
Children’s Ministry is still looking for volunteers for the upcoming year. This is a great opportunity to both invest in the children that you will serve with but also to create community within the congregation. Children’s Ministry would love the chance to place you in a spot to serve where you can connect with other members at Christ Covenant and form a relationship where you might not otherwise. If this sounds like a way that you would be interested in connecting with your fellow church members, email Abigail Cerrato at acerrato@christcovenant.org, and she can give you more information.
Women's Ministry Girls' Night Out
Monday, July 10
Our next Girls’ Night Out is Monday, July 10, 2023 at 6:00 pm at White Duck Taco in Matthews! Join us for dinner, fellowship, and a meet and greet with Trisha DeYoung, wife of senior pastor Kevin DeYoung. There is no registration required, and the only cost is the cost of your dinner. We hope to see you there!

The address for White Duck Taco is 131 E John St Suite A, Matthews, NC 28105. There is limited parking in front of the restaurant, but there is overflow parking behind the restaurant or in the post office parking lot next door.
Children's Ministry Summer Pop-Up
Wednesday, July 12
Join Children’s Ministry staff with your family and kids at the Summer Pop-Up on Wednesday, July 12, from 9:00 am - 11:30 am, at Crooked Creek Park in Indian Trail. Join us for time at the park and the splash pad as we kick-off summer together! This is a great time to bring friends for a time of fun! Have questions, contact Amy at awallace@christcovenant.org.
Peach Cobbler Fellowship
Sunday evening, July 16
All are invited to join a time of fellowship and peach cobbler after evening worship on Sunday, July 16. Don’t miss this family fun time to enjoy a sweet treat and fellowship with one another.
'O Nights' - Christ Covenant Church Outreach
Tuesday, July 18
Everyone is invited to join us on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month for Christ Covenant Outreach Nights, called O Nights. Our next one is Tuesday, July 18, from 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm. We will not have O Nights on Tuesday, July 4. We want to provide different spaces where we can learn more about our community while at the same time care for people, take steps of faith to engage others, and avail ourselves to opportunities to share the gospel. It also gives us the opportunity to serve together, to pray for our community, and to see God work in another way.

We will meet in the south lobby of the worship center. If you do not feel comfortable walking, we would love for you to participate by praying on our campus. Please bring your small group, family, etc. and join us! If you have any questions, contact Michelle at mgustavson@christcovenant.org.
Sunday School Resumes August 27
There will not be Sunday School June 4 through August 20. Sunday School will resume on August 27, 2023. This is a new rhythm for us as a church, which allows a rest for our teachers and volunteers, especially in the children’s area.
New Arrivals in the Book Nooks
Have you looked through the new arrivals we have in our book nooks located in the main and north lobbies? If you are looking for a great book for summer reading, we encourage you to stop by one of the book nooks for your next book!

J. I. Packer’s bestselling book, Knowing God, is now available in a beautiful hardcover edition in our book nook located in the main lobby of the worship center. Since its original publication in 1973, Packer’s insightful and practical approach has impacted countless Christians throughout the world as they are introduced to the wonder and joy of knowing God.

In this beloved work, Packer challenges readers that while they may know about God, it is not the same thing as knowing him. Organized into 3 sections, Knowing God explains the importance of theological study of the Lord, what the Bible has to say about God and his character, and the benefits of knowing him. From cover to cover, Packer teaches that each truth learned about God should ultimately lead to prayer and praise.

Here is what Pastor Kevin said in his endorsement of Knowing God: “There are very few books that communicate such glorious truth—and communicate it as succinctly and as well—as Knowing God. Through Packer’s penetrating mind and gifted pen, the majesty of God and the wonder of the gospel shine through on every page. Easily one of the most influential books of the last half century.”
