Let’s Talk about COMMUNITY!

Let’s talk, read, and sing about COMMUNITY! When children feel like they are a part of a community, they feel a sense of belonging! You can ask your child, “What are some of your favorite areas in our community?” and “How can we be helpers in our community?”

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)
Saginaw County Health Department
WIC is a federally-funded program that serves pregnant women, breastfeeding moms, postpartum women, infants, and children up to age 5.

The program provides a combination of nutrition education, supplement foods, breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to other health care partners. WIC foods are selected to meet various nutrient needs such as calcium, iron, folic acid, vitamins A & C and fiber. Participants use a WIC Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card to purchase food at approved retail grocery stores and pharmacies.

A family of four may earn $51,338 per year and qualify for WIC. Read the WIC income guidelines or call 989-758-3733.
