URJ & RAC Gun Violence Statement |
In response to the horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner, Director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, released the following statement:
"There are no words left to describe the pain and horror of yet another school shooting. 21 lives cut short. The rage and heartbreak of living in a society that repeatedly permits the destruction of life. God forgive this country for loving guns more than children."

On the night of the festival of Shavuot (the first night of Shavuot in the diaspora), it is traditional for Jews to stay up and learn Torah – a centuries-old custom known as Tikkun Leil Shavuot. We invite you to spend this evening with us as we hold a Torah study and discuss different passages, and how they apply to our daily lives.

Green Team: Go Green Event |
Wednesday, June 8th // 7:00pm
The GoGreen Teams program is a simple, easy and fun way to learn about climate and sustainability solutions, emergency preparedness and resilience and take actions! It is designed around 7 monthly hour long meetings with an intro meeting and a celebration meeting at the end.
This program provides us with everything we need to complete a series of fun interactive meetings that includes videos, games, discussion points, and action items.

Summer Patio Shabbat Services |
We invite you to join us for our Kabbalat Shabbat Summer Series. Normally, we would be hosting our Summer Shabbat on our beautiful patio, from June until August.
However, we will be starting the 2020 Project soon, which includes the renovation of our patio. The location of our Summer Shabbat Series may change, but everyone is still welcome to join us on Friday evenings at 6:30pm. Stay tuned for more information.

Non-Fiction Jewish Book Club |

Join Nat Cohen and the other members of the Jewish Nonfiction Book Club for a stimulating discussion on books that relate to Jewish life. Our next meeting will be on June 12 at 7:00 PM. We will discuss Operation Thunderbolt, by Saul David, a riveting account of the raid on the Entebbe airport. You won't want to miss this one, so register on the temple website.

Shavuot Summer Kick-off Party at the APJCC |
Thursday, June 2nd // 3:30pm
Celebrate the beginning of the long Shavuot weekend with us! Free access to the APJCC pool and the adjacent playground, along with crafts and fun, educational videos on the giant outdoor screen. Pizza, ice cream and other snacks are included, in honor of the holiday of Milk & Honey. A great way to kick off summer!

Currently, JFS SV is assisting refugees from Afghanistan and other locations.
