Conduct Corner: Celebrate this weekend without damaging your community
Be safe this weekend! Damaging residence facilities, such as pulling down ceiling tiles, damaging sinks, and tampering with bathroom stalls, isn’t just a harmless prank—it’s dangerous, disruptive, and costly for everyone.
Ceiling tiles, for example, are part of the fire and life safety system, designed to help prevent harmful gases and smoke from spreading in case of an emergency. Damaging bathrooms inconveniences your entire community by making essential facilities unusable and creating unnecessary repair costs.
These behaviours violate the Residence Contract (clause 4.10.10) and can lead to serious consequences, including points and restitution charges if you are held responsible.
Instead of risking harm to your residence community, celebrate this weekend by participating in sanctioned events and Residence-wide programming. Keep the fun safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.

Limited In-person and Mobile Ordering Options this Weekend

These locations will also have limited menu offerings from Friday, October 25 - Sunday, October 27. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Diwali Dinner
Join us for dinner on November 1 for a special Diwali food feature in the dining halls. Tips to reduce food waste!
- When dining in the All-You-Care-To-Eat dining halls, preview options to determine what you are truly craving.
- Do a lap of the options before making a mindful selection. Remember to only take what you need as you are welcome to go back for seconds.

Tips for managing Flu Season
Cold and Flu season is here. Most people can manage a cold, the flu or COVID-19 at home! Here are some tips for managing mild symptoms:
For mild symptoms:
- Get lots of rest
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Use over-the-counter pain and fever medications as needed (follow the directions on the package)
- For cough: try a teaspoon of honey
- For mild discomfort with breathing: keep the room cool, open the window, try relaxation exercises or try shifting your position
To prevent the spread of coughs, colds, flu and COVID-19, avoid going out while you are feeling sick and take extra precautions for 10 days.
Call your family doctor or reach out to SWS Medical Services if you:
- Are unsure about how to manage your other health problems, e.g. diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure, while you are sick
- Think you are getting dehydrated, e.g., light-headed, dark-coloured urine
- Have had a fever for more than 5 days
- Are so tired it is hard to care for yourself
- Are short of breath doing your usual activities
- Feel worse after you were starting to feel better
Call 9-1-1 or go to the emergency department if you are:
- Severely short of breath (struggling for each breath, only able to speak single words)
- Having severe chest pain
- Feeling confused
- Losing consciousness
