#SAFESTORAGEPA

with Clallam County Sheriff's Office

Free LockMed Lockbag Community Event

While medicines help treat disease, manage chronic conditions, and improve health – unused and expired prescription medications pose a public safety concern. Opioids are now one of the leading causes of injury-related deaths in Washington State. 75 percent of opioid misuse starts with people using medication that wasn’t prescribed for them—usually taken from a friend or family member, often without their knowledge. #SafeStoragePA aims to protect young people by helping residents safely store prescriptions being used in the home.

Port Angeles Health Youth Coalition are providing Port Angeles residents a combination Lockbag to take home at no cost, while supplies last in partnership with Clallam County Sheriff's Office at the upcoming nationwide med “take-back” day. Each Lockbag is white laminated nylon and measures at 12.0” (L) x 8.0” (H) that can hold up to 24 prescription bottles.

This free event will take place on, Saturday, April 30th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Clallam County Court House in the east side parking lot at 4th and Peabody (223 E 4th St). To reserve your Lockbag while supplies last, complete this confidential pre-survey, www.surveymonkey.com/r/PASAFESTORAGE2022.

Safe storage resources paid for through the Port Angeles Healthy Youth Coalition with funding from Washington Health Care Authority.

Community Coalition Meeting
