The Dickinson Research Extension Center field days will be held on two different days.

The first day will be held at the Manning Ranch (Section 19). Nitrogen cycle in rangeland, heifer development/finishing, March versus May calving systems, interplay of cow sizer in the production system, fertilizer impacts on forage nitrates, and 701x/precision cattle tags/cattle monitoring are the topics for the Manning Ranch Field Day set for Wednesday, July 12 at North Dakota State University’s (NDSU) Dickinson Research Extension Center Manning Ranch.

The second field day will be held at the Dickinson Research Extension Center in Dickinson. We will have a horticulture tour in the morning. Pollinator gardens, emerald ash borer, soil testing, and composting will be among the topics during the annual summer horticulture field day July 13 at North Dakota State University’s (NDSU) Dickinson Research Extension Center (DREC). This will be a walking tour, but there will be a courtesy shuttle available. Lunch will be provided after the tour.

An agronomy tour will follow the lunch at 1:30. Western North Dakota soybean breeding, soybean phosphorus management, palmer amaranth, sunflower seed weevil, and liming acid soil will be among the topics during the annual summer field day July 13 at North Dakota State University’s (NDSU) Dickinson Research Extension Center (DREC).

“The tour will conclude with a ground breaking for our new agricultural laboratory/workshop facility.”
