Invitation

John Pastoriza Piñol

Internationally renowned artist John Pastoriza-Piñol will be teaching a two-day Masterclass for NESBA in early June. While the workshop is full, we have added a Meet and Greet event for any NESBA member who would like to meet John in person. Hear his top tips for botanical artists and how his work explores the delicate balance between humans and nature, science and art. All while holding down a daytime full-time job in Melbourne, Australia! You can ask John that burning question you have and socialize with fellow NESBA artists over refreshments. Other nearby attractions for those botanically inclined include the gardens at Mass Horticulture’s Elm Bank and Lookout Farm in Natick. So, make a day trip and wrap up by meeting and greeting the incomparable John Pastoriza-Piñol.

You can learn more about John and his botanical art journey in this video interview. But don’t miss meeting this world renown artist up close and personal on June 3!

John Pastoriza-Piñol completed his doctorate in Botany at University of Vigo, Galicia, in Spain and formally studied botanical illustration at the Botanical Art School of Melbourne. His work has been shown around the world and is held in numerous public and private collections worldwide, including Carnegie Mellon University; Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London; and the State collection, Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne. He teaches intermediate/advanced classes at the Geelong and Melbourne Botanic Gardens and has expanded his teaching circuit to include interstate and international master classes.
