January to March 2023:

• 36 families served
• We are on track to help over 150 families this year!
• At only a quarter of the way through the year, we are already at 38% of our total 2022 numbers. This means we are reaching more families than last year!
• Demand is ramping up as more patients are returning post-COVID, as well as more families hearing about our fund!

Did you know...

• In 2022, 85 families benefited from the Durango Derailers Patient Assistance Fund. That's over 3 families EVERY two weeks!
• This number is half of what it used to be due to newly implemented fund restrictions at Children's Hospital Colorado. By expanding our mission, fundraising locally, and building funds at the Community Foundation Serving Southwest Colorado we expect this number to multiply greatly and serve more families!

Thank you for the incredible turn out at the Graze & Fundraise event on May 24th! It was a great way to kick off the Iron Horse ride and bring the cycling team together! This was our first year partnering to fundraise with Grassburger, and we look forward to it becoming an annual favorite gathering!

This past weekend 51 riders put on a Durango Derailers team jersey and rode in the 51st Iron Horse Bicycle Classic. These athletes pedaled to bring HOPE and COURAGE to our local kids, collecting over $30,000 in donations! We are so thankful for each and every one of them!! The Courage Classic Cycling Event is July 15th-16th. This incredible 2 day riding event is based at Copper Mountain and takes bikers through Summit County. The Durango Derailers Team has been riding in the Courage Classic (our original riding event) for 16 years!

This year we are partnering with the "Psyched To Climb" team to add more focus on the mental health needs of our local kids. These kids fight big battles every day. Let’s join them in this ride of courage, determination and strength to show them that we support them.
