The Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley is incredibly honored and excited to announce a transformational gift from MacKenzie Scott. This significant support is part of a larger collective gift of $281 million to 62 local Boys & Girls Clubs and Boys & Girls Clubs of America, one of the largest individual donations in the organization’s 160-year history.

A big THANK YOU from the Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley for your participation and support of our annual Fore the Kids Golf Classic!

The day was a huge success and we thank each and every one of you for attending, sponsoring, donating or volunteering. Through your generosity our net proceeds were upwards of $14,000 to support our mission “to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible adults”.

Please know that every dollar raised will be utilized to ensure our 2000+ members have a safe, fun and welcoming after school program focused on helping them to achieve Academic Success, develop Good Character and Citizenship, and practice Healthy Lifestyles.

Education

When our members requested more STEM programming we couldn't say no! Since the last week in February, all Fun Friday programming has included some messy science experiments like Oobleck, Slime, Elephant Toothpaste, Balloon Rockets, and more!

The Arts

Every Friday, members get to participate in some fun Friday activities and build up their creativity by doing fun arts and crafts with Coach Jocelyn. In March, members got to make flowers out of tissue paper for a woman in their life they wanted to appreciate for Women's History month.

Health & Wellness

With the COVID-19 virus still lingering today, our members at Hale Charter Academy got to learn more about the importance of vaccines. This month has been exciting and informative for our members and staff as we continue to grow and learn.

Leadership & Service

For always being a respectful and responsible youth and continuously helping others in need, Brandon was chosen as the fourth grade Youth of the Month at Reseda Elementary!

Sports & Recreation

In the spirit of March Madness, our members at Reseda Elementary were eagerly prepping for our basketball match on April 1st. Members were learning new techniques with the help of their two coaches, Coach Dylan and Coach Andrew, as they have fully dedicated themselves to help develop these members' skills in preparation for the March Madness Basketball Game.

Take Action: Invest In Our Future Workforce!

Congress is working on an update to the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) right now! We need to ensure the Youth Workforce Readiness Act (YWRA) is included in the final bill, giving it a strong path to passage.

Reach out to your members of Congress today to keep the pressure on and tell them to invest in our future workforce by including the YWRA in WIOA!
