Welcome to Quilting News
June 2022
Message from Lisa
Welcome to June my favorite month of the year. It's my birthday month and my trip to the beach. I hope you have something fun planned fo this month.

We started off the month with my mom falling and I have been here taking care of her. So a little rough of a start for our family. But we are managing. Gladine has been stitching non stop and I hope we are back to a quicker turn around time for everyone.

I will have two weeks of this month so please make a note on your calendar, I will be off the week of June 13th as I will be going with a group of ladies to the quilt show is West Virginia and then the last week of June I will be in my happy place at Beaufort, NC relaxing on the beach and picking up shells.

I'm excited to say we had a good response to our Wool Group that will be meeting once a month to start and I will have more details below. I'm going to have a meeting with all those interested in July, so please plan on attending so we can pick a day of the month and get started. This is open to anyone and friends.

We also have a group that wants to do a block exchange for a book called Harriet's Journey. I will have the details below and you need to read the details and sign up ASAP!

Well, I hope to see you around the studio soon. Daycare has been busy and we welcome you back if you have been away for a while. And we invite new ladies anytime you want to join us.

Thanks again to my customers for their support all year round. Quilting friends are the BEST you can have!

So until you see me in person, Keep on sewing and I will see you soon.

Lisa

Harriet's Journey
There is a group of ladies who want to do this book as a block exchange. The details are as follows:
  • Each person must purchase their own book.
  • Each participant will cut only the colored part of the pattern. You will need to choose your background fabric and cut that for each block you make. Background you will need 8 yards.
  • You will cut a designated set and amount of blocks once we know how many want to participate. There are 100 blocks and we will not swap the applique blocks. So depending on how many sign up you may need to cut 6 sets maybe more or less.
  • This is a floral (no batiks or Neon or civil war) block exchange. We are looking for Spring and Summer Bright colors. The blocks finish at 6 inches.
  • We need to hear from you if you are interested in this group By JULY 1ST. The more we have the less you have to cut. Please respond to Lisa Adams if you are interested or Linda Thompson.
  • Goal is to cut our blocks and have them back to studio by August 1st.
Those who have signed up already are: Linda Thompson, Sue Cook, Pam Schwartz, Colleen Woodcock, Linda Cross, Merci Kessler and Joy Yoshino.
Snappy Squares Quilt
I had this class with Augusta Cole back when I first started my business. I made my first one with all Civil War Reproductions. While I was idle, I found I had lots of scraps in my batik baskets, so I decided to make another one in Bright Colors. So If you ever wanted to make this quilt now is the time. Just contact me and we will set up a date to make one for yourself. You can make it truly all scrappy or pick your fabrics you want. I added a polka dot in my white section and just had fun with the rest. Just text or call me. We will set a date.
"4th of July" Cookout
We will be having our Cookout for the 4th on Thursday, July 7th this year. I'm taking my birthday week off (FYI). So I will cook the hotdogs on the grill and you bring a SMALL dish to share with the ladies! We just love eating and sewing around here! Wear your Red, White and Blue for the day!
"Sip and Sew"
We had so much fun at our last one, I thought we might have another one. So mark your calendar for Saturday, July 23rd and I will provide the drinks and you just bring a snack to share with your friends. We might just get a little sewing done that day, but probably more sipping....
Wool Group Gathering
We had a great response to our Wool Day group. So I want to have a meeting with everyone who might be interested on Tuesday , July 12th at 10 am. You can bring a project and stay a while if you want, but we will just be talking about what we want to do and expect from the group. I just want to make sure all my customers have a place to gather and have fun. So MARK you calendars and please plan on coming. Invite others who like wool you think might like this group!

Those who signed up: Sue Cook, Darlene Vincent, Jean Roop, Teri Donnelly, Colleen Woodcock, Betsy Maier, Becky Wright, Phyllis Green, Judy Green and myself.
Quilters Daycare Group
Quilter's Daycare is a Thursday sew group. We have more ladies joining us. So please make sure that you slide over and make room for everyone that wants to sew. We will have an overflow room in my old office if you would feel more comfortable in there away from the larger group. We want everyone to feel welcome and we have missed many of you. Your $5 covers your seat charge each Thursday. See you soon! Reminder the door opens at 9 am.
Prayer Box for my customers
I have many of my customers who have recently had medical or family health issues arise or just traveling mercies. So I hope you don't mind if I share a few. I know there is a long list, but many of my friends are prayer worriers and I think we could all use a little extra help about now. So I'm sorry in advance if I leave anyone out, but I try to keep up with everyone of you.

Merci Kessler, Delma Kemmet, Cathy Wells and husband, Cindy Moser, Katina Powell and family, Linda Thompson and husband, Brenda Short, Anna Helms (lost her sister), Jean Roop, Mary Ellen Carhart, Jane Elbert and my Mom. I know there might be others, so please reach out to me so I can write them down.

Praying for each of these listed for God to touch and heal their needs in specials ways. AMEN.
Thank You!
I now offer payment through Zelle (which is from your bank to mine) or VENMO. If you use one of these payments types, you can now pay me directly. Just inquire and I can give you my account info.

Please continue to bring a bag with your project when leaving it for quilting services!

See you soon! Trixie and Lisa
