In honor of the seven lives lost in the Montgomery County jail this year, help the Dayton Community Bail Fund meet their $3000 fundraising goal to provide bail for seven community members in time for them to reunite with their families for the winter holidays.
The Dayton Community Bail Fund helps people detained in Miami Valley County jails with financial burden of incarceration. The Fund acknowledges the disproportionate impact of the criminal legal system on Black, Indigenous, and Latinx communities, and historically disenfranchised populations. The fund further acknowledges that cash bail unfairly disadvantages low-income people by unnecessarily putting people at-risk of communicable diseases, trauma, and death. The fund assists community members who are unable to post bail with bail funds, legal fees, and other costs as funds are available.
