Promises kept: Bond-funded building projects and upcoming maintenance

The bond measure approved by PSD voters in 2016 has fulfilled its promises. PSD built three new school buildings, added an addition to an existing school, built a transportation building and an athletic facility, and completed building improvements in all district schools. Maintaining schools is an ongoing process, however, and more projects will be needed in the next five years. Watch this video to learn more about completed projects and other needs.>>

A clipart image shows four children, each suffering different illness symptoms. From left, one blows his nose, another has his arm in a sling, another looks green and ready to vomit, and one is shivering.

Flu-like symptoms, fever, and severe cough are among the reasons to stay at home.

How sick is too sick for school?

While regular attendance is a good goal, there are times when a student should stay home for the health of those around them. Students who may be contagious or do not feel well enough to participate in normal activities should stay home. Visit the PSD Illness Guidelines web page to learn more.>>

If approved, the mill levy would fund maintenance projects and other needs.

Three mill levy sessions remain

PSD is hosting seven information sessions this fall to ensure residents have factual information about a mill levy measure that will appear on the Nov. 5 ballot. Only three mill levy sessions remain and will take place on the evenings of Oct. 9, 15 and 17. Find out more about on the PSD website.>>

School funding demystified

Want to know more about school finance, the state funding formula, and why more property tax revenue does not equal more money for schools? Watch these videos:

A screenshot from a video shows an illustration. On one side, a rectangle labeled District A has 2/3 of the rectangle shaded light blue and says State Share - State Taxes: General Fund Education Fund. A third of the rectangle is shaded dark blue and is labeled Local Share - Local District Taxes: Property taxes, ownership tax. Next to that rectangle is another rectangle labeled District B. The B rectangle also has a light blue portion labeled state share and a dark blue portion labeled local share, but in this illustration, the light blue portion takes up a third of the rectangle and the dark blue portion takes up two-thirds of the rectangle. A gray play button is superimposed over the image.
