We are a people who hear the Good Shepherd's voice.
We know by faith that we belong to God. We are called to seek and love our neighbors as God loves us!

On-going clean-up of the Church - There are a number of household items free to a new home! Consider glasses, cups, and dishes. How about candle holders? Items are in a black cabinet in the Education Wing. Any item taken must be removed from the church and not returned.

A Thousand Pairs of Underwear! A Collaborative Outreach of
Good Shepherd and Transfiguration
The Diocesan Refugee Response Team reports that buses full of refugees sent here from border states are arriving in greater numbers. Among the greatest needs of the new arrivals, according to Nancy Stockbridge, Deacon in Charge of the Response Team, is underwear. The Social ministry team concluded that providing underwear would be a very concrete way of respecting the dignity of every human being and caring for (new) members of our community who are vulnerable and marginalized, to quote the Baptismal Covenant and the strategic goals developed by the GSEC Tending our Soil team and adopted by the Vestry. We believe we can hit 1000 pairs of underwear if everyone picks up a multipack or two. Please keep the undies in the unopened package (just as you would surely prefer to receive them)!
Kick-off date - Pentecost, May 28 - June 18. Bring to church or drop off at Food Drive (6/3, 6/17).
Sizes needed - Men's: small and medium
Women's: extra small, small, and medium
Boys': small (6-7)
Girls': sizes 6, 12, 14, 16

Episcopalians everywhere are invited to register to join a churchwide festival of worship, learning, community, and action July 9-12 at the Baltimore (Maryland) Convention Center. “It’s All About Love: A Festival for the Jesus Movement” will open at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 9, with a revival worship service featuring Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Michael Curry. It closes at noon on Wednesday, July 12, following a festival Eucharist preached by House of Deputies President Julia Harris. View the schedule online. | | | |
Shepherd’s Table is celebrating 40 years of serving our neighbors in need and showing the power of community giving. They have seen a 43% increase in meals served daily in this first quarter. The end of pandemic relief programs, inflation and escalating housing costs all contribute to food insecurity. Please help by donating to the globe offering at our Sunday worship services and/or by volunteering to prepare or serve food at Progress Place. Please follow these links for opportunities to volunteer or reach out to Daniella Burgos at dburgos@shpeherdstable.org. Thank you!
