STREET OF SHOPPES UPDATE

As current co-chairs of Street of Shoppes 2023, we have engaged in much discussion and soul searching regarding how to move forward. The current model has worked well for a long time but with the decline in number of volunteers and competition from area events, a large festival has become quite a challenge. We are not willing to lead the usual large event and propose the possibility of having a number of smaller, more manageable SOS fundraising events throughout the year. Some examples are: 5K Fun Run, Dinner with Live Auction, Wine Tasting in someone's home, etc.

We will continue to support the Wednesday craft group and create opportunities for them to sell their merchandise.

If an individual or a group feels called to lead the large SOS Festival, please let us know by April 30. If not, we hope the proposed changes for smaller SOS events are viewed as a positive way to continue to raise funds for our Outreach and Inreach Ministries.

Faithfully,

Laura Gunn and Betsy Sullivan

New Adult Sunday School Class

Sundays at 1:00pm via zoom

Begins April 23rd

"Exploring the theologies that formed this fear, we find that the God these theologies describe, and support is rather monstrous. Looking then at scripture, the realities we face in life, and Jesus' life of healing, we find that Christianity is not a religion of fear. Rather Christianity is a religion of healing, connection, belonging, and love."
