This edition of the Bear Bulletin includes some of the programs and events occurring this week and highlights some upcoming off-campus excursions that are just around the corner.

  • October 21 - 23: Parent & Family Weekend
  • November 23 - 25: Thanksgiving Break (No classes)
  • December 9: Last day of classes
  • December 12 - 21: Reading period and finals

What's Happening This Semester

1) National Transfer Student Week


Your TXSMs will be hosting social programs in House 22's common room on Wednesday, October 19 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM and Thursday, October 20 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM.


Activities will include: 

  • Free Insomnia cookies
  • Free Missouri Botanical Gardens tickets
  • Exclusive transfer student laptop stickers
  • Postcards to fill out and send to friends and family
  • Opportunities to sign-up for free excursions


2) TX Community Thanksgiving


Join your fellow transfer and exchange students and TXSMs for a free traditional American Thanksgiving dinner of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, and bread. Dinner will be served from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 3 at Lopata House Great Hall.


Vegetarian, gluten-free, and kosher meals will be available for those that indicated dietary restrictions in their TX Welcome registration. RSVP for the dinner here!


3) A Trip to the St. Louis Aquarium


Join your fellow transfer and exchange students for a trip to the St. Louis Aquarium on Saturday, November 12. More information will be sent out in the November Bear Bulletin.


4) Ice Skating in Forest Park


Join sophomore, exchange, and your fellow transfer students for an evening of ice skating in Forest Park on December 3. TXSMs and 2SAs will be meeting in the Village to ride the Metro to Forest Park at 4:00 PM.

Parent & Family Weekend | October 21 - 23, 2022

Parent & Family Weekend is a great opportunity to reconnect with your family by showing them your favorite study spot or coffee shop on campus, exploring St. Louis attractions, catching a WashU Bears football game, and more.


If your family plans on joining us for Parent & Family Weekend, encourage them to visit our website to view the schedule of events, purchase tickets and t-shirts, and plan their visit.


Bike Registration

If you have a bike on campus, we strongly recommend that you register your bike with WashU, display the registration shield on your bike, and ensure you use a Kryptonite U-lock which is available for purchase at WUPD for $25. Register your bike through the WashU Bike Registration page.
