TRAFFIC IMPACTS:
Please note, all work will be restricted to between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Flaggers will be present to assist motorists through the work zone. All roadway and lane closures will reopen during the evening hours and on weekends unless otherwise noted. Access to residential and business driveways will be maintained throughout the work unless alerted otherwise. Businesses will remain open!
Monday, April 24 through Friday, April 28, Home Avenue will be reduced to a single lane with alternating one-way traffic controlled by flaggers between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Traffic on Briggs Street will be shifted onto the Parkway alignment during the day and street parking along Briggs Street has been permanently removed. Briggs Street will reopen each evening. Batchelder Street will be closed during the day and will reopen each evening with the exception of Tuesday into Wednesday. Traffic will be shifted onto the Parkway alignment during the closure. Residential and business access will be maintained. Motorists should anticipate a gravel driving surface.
Intermittent shoulder closures along Flynn Avenue and Sears Lane are anticipated throughout the week.
CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES:
Crews will continue working to install waterline along Home Avenue between Foster Street and the railroad crossing under single lane closure.
Crews will continue reconstructing Briggs Street throughout the week. Early next week, crews will install the remaining stormwater infrastructure before boxcutting the roadway and installing subbase along Batchelder Street. This work will be completed under daytime closures unless otherwise noted. Traffic will be shifted to the Parkway alignment. Residential and business access will be maintained.
Conduit for future light poles will be installed along the Parkway alignment between Sears Lane and Flynn Avenue. Crews will be installing signal pole foundations on Flynn Avenue and Sears Lane. This work will take place outside of the roadway under shoulder closures.
Independent utility companies may be in the project area relocating aerial utilities throughout the week. BED plans to be onsite Wednesday, April 26 through Friday, April 28, to relocate an aerial utility on Home Avenue near the railroad crossing which will require intermittent lane closures with alternating one-way traffic. Flaggers will be present. No service interruptions are anticipated as part of this work.
