Sunday was another great day of worship and a special time for the recognition of mothers. It was also an honor to join with their parents in dedicating Magnolia Grace Lee (Brady & Hannah Lee), Eden Grey Pearson (Courtland & Courtney Pearson), and Matthew Aaron Lavergne (Matt & Abigail Lavergne) to the Lord. A child dedication service also represents a time of re-dedication for the parents, along with the acknowledgement of the church of our responsibility to provide a nurturing environment for Spiritual growth. Also, thank you to Gary Wayne Harbeson and the Celebration Choir for the Special Music.
We had a great concert Saturday evening with Alan Sibley and the Magnolia Ramblers, along with Gold City. Thank you to Bro. Brad for putting this together and to everyone who came out in support of this wonderful event.
May 14 – May 20 is National Police Week 2023. “In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.” (https://nleomf.org/memorial/programs/national-police-week-2023/)
The statistics show that in 2022, 226 federal, state, tribal and local law enforcement officers died in the line-of-duty. Please take some time this week to pray for those who serve in law enforcement and their families. They are committed “to protect and serve.”
Next Sunday will be our Baccalaureate Service to honor our graduating high school seniors. We also use it as a time to acknowledge those graduating from college and other institutions. If you or a family member graduated last December or will be graduating this May, please allow us to acknowledge their accomplishment. You may phone the church office and give their information to Nadia.
You Are Loved!
