and God's Love

Surrounds Us

On this 29th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we find ourselves opening our weekend Masses with songs acknowledging God’s gracious mercy. At our Masses we’ll sing, Lift up your hearts to the Lord, praise God's gracious mercy! At the 11:30, our choir will raise their voices to acknowledge that There's a wideness in God's mercy like the wideness of the sea... Take time to listen to some music this weekend and in the pews during Mass - don’t be shy – sing out with joy that God loves each of us!

In his message, our pastor calls us to prayer and action, for there is a great need for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Read his column at From Fr. Chuck.

This weekend we'll have an emergency Special Collection for Hurricane Relief. The impact of the disasters was devastating, especially on communities of color in the service industries. Be generous - visit Hurricane Relief.

Then after all the Masses, an open house will highlight some of the finishings, furniture, and floor plans as our project to build boldly for the future moves forward. Join us for an update on Our Property Development Journey. While there link to new photos and read this week’s Construction Updates.

With hearts full of gratitude, we present for your review a summary of how your generosity of time, talent, and treasure supported our parish mission. We hope you’ll take time to read the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Annual Report.

As we move through Respect Life Month, we offer for your consideration another St. Teresa, another Doctor of the Church. St. Teresa of Avila shows us that reform and systemic change are critical to respecting life and the dignity of persons – two elements central to our faith. Sit for a space to read the reflection and pray with this saintly woman for guidance at our Saints Gallery.

As Hispanic Heritage Month closes, we introduce you to another Latina from San Antonio. Angelica Segura serves our parish school as its business manager. Learn how her faith and Catholic education framed and formed her at Light.

Last Friday, the message of our Lady of Guadalupe was shared with each class of St. Austin’s School, from pre-K 3 to eighth grade. Smile with us to see the photos of the Silver Rose’s visit there in this week’s Knightly News.

The OLG team is grateful that the Knights are padrinos of our Pilgrimage to Tepeyac. Our events continue, so don’t wait - reserve your spot to make Milagros on Saturday, October 22 for adults and again on Sunday, the 23rd in the afternoon for families with school-aged children. Spots are limited and filling fast. Also coming is a pilgrimage to the Missions of San Antonio on November 9. Find all the details, register for Milagro making, and express your interest in the Mission visit at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

We offer a new Bible study on the Rosary on Zoom Wednesday evenings beginning October 19. There's more including book studies, and news from Faith Formation.

It’s a great advertising value - recent survey results show that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide Book & Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser. If you own or manage a business, please advertise with us. Call or email Margaret Lee at (214)460-3542, malee2004@sbcglobal.net.

You make us feel like singing and dancing! All we've done in the past, all we do in the present, and what we'll do in the future are only possible because of your gifts.

Thank you for your generosity!

Sing out your joy to the Lord

whose love is enduring.
