Janie Cunningham's Retirement

Janie Cunningham, who has faithfully served this church as our Parish Secretary, as our Organist, and in so many other capacities, will be retiring at the end of May. This Sunday is Janie's last as Organist. The Parish Life Commission is planning a celebration of Janie’s time with us on Sunday, June the 4th. This will also be Trinity Sunday, our equivalent of a “patronal feast day”. Mark your calendars, more information will be forthcoming!

Given the length of Janie’s faithful service to this church, it is appropriate for us to send her off with a “purse” as she transitions into the retired life. We invite you to make contributions to this purse by sending checks payable to Trinity Episcopal Church with “Janie” in the memo line. We will present the combined total to Janie at her retirement celebration. Please get any contributions to the church office by Wednesday, May 31st. If you prefer, you may also simply make gifts directly to Janie. We also encourage you to write thank you letters to Janie, and bring them to the celebration on June 4th. Let’s show Janie how much we appreciate her ministry and service to this church!

Outreach in the Community: OARS

Kathy Nicholl of Trinity's Ministry & Outreach Committee presented funds to Cindy Fry of the Community Resource Center (CRC) for the benefit of Older Adult Rural Services (OARS). OARS provides transportation for the elderly, primarily for medical appointments. CARTS, the local public transportation service, no longer goes to Baylor, Scott, and White on Hwy 71. Might it be your ministry to help provide transportation to seniors? For more information on this opportunity, please call the CRC at 830-693-0700.

Sunday Adult Education  is on Summer Break!

We are taking a break from Sunday Adult Education for the first part of the summer. Beginning mid-summer, we will hold Inquirers' Classes on Sunday mornings. These classes are designed for those who are new or new'ish to the Episcopal Church's way of worship & life, for those who simply enjoy a refresher, or for those who might be interested in Confirmation. Confirmation is the sacrament where you renew your relationship with God and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and through the Bishop laying hands upon you. Please talk to Fr. Dave or Rev. Claire if you are interested in such a class.
