2022 Missions Festival
Missions Festival - Come this Saturday, May 21, beginning at 5 p.m. for 20+ mission displays; a chance to win up to $750 toward a Petra-approved mission trip; and a Deeper Night, with a focus on missions!

5:00 - 6:30 p.m. Mission Displays & Petra Passports
Each person will be issued a Petra Missions Festival “passport” which will be stamped after receiving an introduction to a Petra missionary or missions agency at a particular display. Anyone age 16 or older who receives at least 15 stamps is eligible to enter a drawing for up to $750 toward a Petra-approved mission trip! Youth aged 11-15 with at least 15 stamps are eligible for their own drawing and prize (an assortment of gift cards).

6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Deeper Night, with a Missions Emphasis
Join us for a special night of worship, prayer, and ministry with a missional focus. Pastor Brian Coles will also be sharing a short devotional to stir our faith. Come ready to encounter the Lord and be reawakened to the mission that is all around us!
This Sunday - Join us as we continue our 2022 Missions Festival with a focus on Global Missions. Alex Seidler will share an inspiring message at both services called "Neighbors and Nations."

We encourage you to browse through the mission displays set up in the Lobby and Atrium, where you can learn about Petra's missionaries and various mission-sending ministries.
Songs This Sunday – Great Things, Where I'm Standing Now, Goodness of God, God You're So Good

BELONG: The Journey - The focus of BELONG this Sunday will be on “The Holy Spirit.” See how Jesus’ disciples interacted with the Holy Spirit and how we can relate to the Spirit today. Come to the BELONG Room at 9:30 or 11:30 a.m.
Alex Seidler has been in full-time ministry since 2006. He was a missionary for 12 years to East Asia, where he led campus church-planting teams and provided strategic leadership. He is currently the Global Ministries Director at Elim Fellowship and also the Executive Director for BASIC College Ministries. He is a graduate of both Elim Bible Institute and Roberts Wesleyan College. In 2009 he married his beautiful wife, Jodi, and together they minister throughout the world believing for God’s heart and mission to be experienced in a fresh way.
Church-Wide Events
Child Dedication - If you would like to dedicate your child to the Lord on Sunday, May 29, at the 9 or 11 a.m. service, please call the church office TODAY during normal business hours at 717-354-5394 or register online by tomorrow.
First Responders Appreciation Day - We will be recognizing first responders on Sunday, June 5, as a way to convey our thanks for their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to our community. Barring inclement weather, we’ll have the opportunity to check out emergency vehicles in the East Parking Lot and to visit with several mounted police officers and their equine partners. Lancaster’s K-9 Unit will give a short presentation to the kids during Children’s Church. First responders and their families are invited to a pizza lunch after the 11 a.m. service.

Hiring - Petra is looking for an individual to fill a full-time (40 hours per week) position as Technical Associate - Live Production. Job descriptions are available at the West Hub and online at petra.church/hiring. If interested, please send your resume to Tim Jensen.
The Right to Live – With abortion rights being a hot topic these days, we need to know how to communicate our life-honoring convictions in a compelling but respectful way. Join us on Saturday, June 4, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as Scott Klusendorf, President of Life Training Institute, shares on “The Right to Live.” A Question & Answer period will follow. Teens 13+ are welcome. For a video introduction to this event by Brian and Kris Flewelling, click here. It’s a free event, but please let us know you’re coming by registering online.
Marriage Ministry
Parents/Guardians with elementary-aged and younger children are invited to a potluck meal and Parenting Workshop with COBYS Family Services on Saturday, May 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. Learn how to teach and reinforce desirable behaviors! The cost is $10 per family ($5 per single-parent family) and childcare for ages 1 through 12 will be provided. Please bring a hot dish, cold dish, or dessert to share. Register online by this Monday.
Petra Men
Men's Breakfast - Come for some tasty food and great fellowship at Shady Maple this Saturday at 7 a.m.! Dan Kolb will be sharing his story. Dan is a retired dairy and crop farmer. Over the past few years he has enjoyed life at Garden Spot Village, especially making things out of wood. He is the husband of Gladys; the father of seven children and five stepchildren; and has been blessed with 45 grandchildren! He has a heart for men, encouraging them to become lovers of Jesus, their spouses, and families. The cost of the buffet breakfast is $10.
Kingdom Kids
Vacation Bible School – At our “Monumental” VBS this summer, kids will discover from the vast vistas and colorful canyons of the Southwest that God loves them no matter what! He’s with them everywhere, he’s in charge, and he’s stronger than anything! All kids from age 4 through Grade 4 are invited to an incredible week of music, games, snacks, and amazing faith discoveries as they celebrate God’s greatness. VBS will run from Monday through Friday, June 13-17, from 6:30-8:45 p.m. Register online by June 8!

We’ve had a phenomenal volunteer response so far but still need 25 people to join the team as Elementary Crew Guides (age 13+). Come on, everyone – head to the Kids' Hub to sign up! If you’re unable to help that week, we could use your help after the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, June 12, to get the church decorated and transformed into a kids-only zone! Lunch is included. Please contact Pastor Andrea at andreak@petra.church if you can lend a hand.
