Celebrating Applefest at Ravenswood

We celebrated the end of summer with Applefest at Ravenswood Historic Site. With over 300 people joining in, the day was filled with fun and community spirit.

The boutique apple tasting was a hit, with the “unknown” variety emerging as the clear favorite. Lawn games entertained everyone, and the freshly pressed apple cider was the perfect refreshment.

Thank you to our amazing volunteers and the Ravenswood Progress League for making this event possible!

Summer Maintenance in Open Space

This summer, LARPD Rangers and staff have been working hard to maintain our parks with freshly painted parking lines at Holdener and Sycamore Grove Parks and ongoing efforts to manage invasive species like Stinkwort and Yellow Star-thistle.

Strong winds brought down a large sycamore tree last month on the Arroyo Del Valle Connector trail. The team quickly cleared the debris, and the trail is now open again for everyone to enjoy.

Camp Shelly @ Lake Tahoe

Camp Shelly will officially close for the season on September 2, 2024.

Park Ranger Aides Zach and Sam want to thank everyone for an amazing summer filled with fresh-made ice cream, bear sightings, and unforgettable moments.

We look forward to seeing you next year for more fun and adventure!
