 Annual

Donegal Society

Reunion

Sunday, June 12

https://donegalpc.org/

It will be a very special opportunity to celebrate the history and the faith of the Donegal Presbyterian Church and the rich legacy of the past that surrounded it then and now!

Departing from the tradition of the past in holding the reunion on a weekday, this year we will join the congregation of the Donegal Presbyterian Church in worship. The service starts at 10:00 A.M. and will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and a special message entitled “Witness Marks.”

Following, there will be a wonderful chance to experience the cuisine of the 18th century Scots-Irish, German and Lenape people. The cost is $10 per person and will be served in Fellowship Hall. If you plan to be a part of this meal, a form will be available in the Weekly Witness and in the narthex.

At 12:45, the Donegal Society will convene for its annual meeting that will include reports from its ongoing work in fulfilling its mission, a report from the nominating committee and the election of officers, and a presentation by Dr. Marlene Arnold on her continued work on “The Providence Project.”

At the conclusion of the meeting, there will be a culture fair on the grounds of the church, including Native American drummers, Scots-Irish dancers, booths that will invite all to test their knowledge of 18th century history and culture, a tour of the historic cemetery that will also provide voices from the past and dessert, featuring Montgomery Pies. These pies will also be available for sale at $10.00 each and if interested please look for an order form in the coming weeks.

The Donegal Society is especially excited about this very unique day that will offer the opportunity to learn and celebrate the rich history of Donegal Presbyterian Church and the legacy it has helped to shape. Please plan to attend!

LongCommunity.jpg

The Long Community at Highland is looking for volunteers to lead their Sunday church services for their Independent and Assisted Living residents.

The services are at 2:00pm and usually involve a few readings and a sermon and a few songs with communion once a month. They have a resident who accompanies on the piano. At this point you would need to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask even while preaching.

Perhaps you can come once, occasionally or commit to a regular schedule. They would be most grateful! If interested, please contact Connie Hazeltine 717-381-4913 or chazeltine@psl.org

Stewardship Education for Everyone

Stewardship Kaleidoscope 2022 has over 32 workshops lined up with expert perspectives on everything from preaching stewardship, building programs, and activating your congregation to ecumenical perspectives on generosity and building philanthropic capacity.

This year online participants will select from two presentations in three of the workshop blocks, and will have access to an exclusive online-only program in the fourth.

Best of all registration costs will remain the same as 2021 pricing, including additional discounts for in-person group attendees (the more people who come together from a congregation the more you save), and a brand new opportunity for First Call Pastors to attend at half the regular registration fee.

We hope you will join us in Savannah, Georgia or online September 26 - 28.

More information is available at StewardshipKaleidoscope.org.

Early-bird registration will open in early April.
